This line is not correct. Each executor can have 3-5 executor cores which means it can have 3-5 parallel tasks at the same time which means it can process 3-5 partitions at the same time. It's just that one core can process one partition at a time. Once it is finished processing the earlier partition, it will pick up the next partition.
